With effervescent vocals roaring saxophone, and a tight rhythm section, this band melds together classic jazz standards and modern tunes effortlessly, and is the perfect addition to any occasion.
The Sixth Edition Jazz Band is a six piece jazz band made of multitalented professional Bay Area musicians. They bring the rhythm and feel of a classic jazz club wherever they go. They pull from The Great American Songbook with roaring swing tunes, soft ballads, lively latin charts, and many more.
Featuring an effervescent vocalist and roaring saxophone backed with a tight rhythm section that brings the music to life. Their flexibility can range from an intimate quartet to a full six piece as the occasion requires. With ears open and to the front we listen to the room and play from the heart.
From swinging standards to modern tunes, the repertoire spans the tradition. From George Gershwin, and Duke Ellington through Antonia Carlos Jobim and Chick Corea, the program is shaped to the evening with tempo, volume, and song choice bending to the room and the moment.
The Sixth Edition Jazz Band is available for weddings, private events, corporate functions, and venue dates across the Bay Area. They arrive early, dress for the occasion, and is are pleasure to work with from first inquiry to final number. Booking inquiries are warmly welcomed.
